As one student recalls, "Upon entering the school,...I was greeted by upperclassmen who welcomed me to the Suffolk community with open arms," adding, "Now that I have begun my second semester, I have learned that this embrace was not just a welcoming gesture, but also the continuous environment in which the school thrives." Another student concurs, saying that campus is "a friendly place that is abuzz with conversation and debate." Suffolk students are known for being "very inclusive, and they always try to make sure nobody is left behind...they will make sure everyone's voice is heard no matter what."

							From the School

Suffolk students can earn a BA, BS, BFA, or BSBA, depending on their major. In addition to declaring a double major, they can also enhance their studies with an academic minor or a concentration in their major.
							What students say
One of the many assets of Suffolk University is its strong emphasis on the connection between academic work and "experiential learning." For example, the Sawyer Business School, described as one of Suffolk's "greatest strengths," offers in-class IP and pitch competitions and opportunities to work with "the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins [that] have been incorporated as an interactive way of learning outside of the classroom." One biology student's favorite class takes place "at the New England Aquarium, where I have the opportunity every week to learn about the fishes...and get taught by the personnel there." Similarly, a playwriting class features "multiple writers and actors from around the Boston area [that] come in to speak." In addition, many of the courses give students the opportunity to go "all over the city on tours of different places," which makes them very popular with the students. One student fondly recalls "a few field trips...where we visited museums, walked around the city to view historical sites, and I even did a presentation in a historical building." One business student cites their "on-campus job as a Sawyer Business School ambassador" as one of their most valued college experiences, and others point to clubs such as Women in Business, Sports and Business, and Latinas in Law as valuable extensions to their in-class learning. Across subjects, favorite campus professors are those "who work directly in the field they teach." One student studying English reports "great professional relationships" with instructors who "have supported me, challenged me, and pushed me towards great successes." Overall, "professors at Suffolk are engaged, responsive, and [students] are able to make meaningful connections with them...and they are genuinely invested in your success."

								Location

Suffolk University is situated in the center of downtown Boston. We're steps away from the Massachusetts State House, Financial and Innovation Districts, and Boston Common, as well as major shopping centers, museums, theaters, sports and venues, and restaurants. Our students are neighbors with Boston's best everything.
Full-time undergraduate students have the option to live on campus in one of our six residence halls, which feature modern amenities, inviting common areas, and inspiring views of downtown Boston. They range from traditional dorms to apartment-style living. All incoming freshmen are guaranteed two years of University housing.

								Campus Facilities & Equipment

Students enjoy state-of-the-art facilities in repurposed buildings and historical sites that celebrate Boston's rich history and culture. Our academic buildings, sports facilities, and residence halls are interwoven into the very fabric of the city.

								Off-Campus Opportunities

Suffolk University's Department of Residence Life & Housing Services continues working with students after they move out of University housing. Suffolk is close to several of Boston's vibrant neighborhoods, and this campus resource helps students find the one that feels most like home. It also helps them transition to life off campus.

Thanks to our address, Suffolk's campus is also within walking distance or an easy commute to Boston's top employers. These renowned institutions aren't just our neighbors. They're powerhouses in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors that recognize the value of a Suffolk degree and eagerly hire our students as interns and full-time professionals.

						What students say:

Students report that "There are plenty of clubs and organizations on campus"; everything from video gaming clubs and the Taylor Swift Society to professional organizations (i.e., Latinas in Law), numerous cultural clubs, and performing arts groups. And while there is Greek life on campus, it's reputed to be "very lowkey and a welcoming environment." As one student notes, "Everyone can find their people through clubs and organizations, and Suffolk prides itself on that." Suffolk has students from all different backgrounds, including a fair number of commuter students who appreciate the commuter lounge as a place for socializing and hanging out, and as one student recalls, "I made a lot of friends there and I'm super grateful that Suffolk created that community for me." Students also appreciate the school's location. "Exploring Boston is full of endless opportunities," enthuses one student, "and it's always an amazing experience." When not on campus, Suffolk students can be found hanging out at Boston Common, the Seaport District, Chinatown, and the North End. Its Boston location is also advantageous for jobs and networking. "Suffolk University has an amazing civic engagement program which lends itself to many connections throughout the city. It is very common for students to get internships at the State House if they want them."

TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO CAMPUS

In Boston, the primary mode of public transportation is the T (short for MBTA). The T system includes five color-coded subway/trolley transit lines: Green, Red, Orange, Silver and Blue. In addition to the subway/trolley lines, the T also runs a bus and commuter train service. Suffolk University is located within close walking distance to the Green and Red lines at Park Street, the Green and Blue lines at Government Center, and the Orange line at Downtown Crossing. If you would like to use public transportation and would like more information on destinations, please call the MBTA Information Service at (617) 722-3200, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-11pm; Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5pm. Questions regarding rates and other T services can be directed at the MBTA Switchboard at (617) 733-5000. You may also visit the MBTA Website at: www.mbta.com
If you prefer to take a taxi instead, the taxi stands are located at all bus and train terminals and at Logan International Airport, as well as at many subway stations. In the downtown Boston/Beacon Hill area, you can usually hail a cab on the street. Rideshare companies are also an option given our downtown location.

						From The School

Suffolk students come from all kinds of backgrounds and walks of life, but they share a desire to learn from our faculty and from each other. Rams are curious about our world and passionate about changing it for the better. They recognize that they each have a unique perspective to share, and they're excited to hear others' viewpoints.
Students get the best of all worlds at Suffolk. Our campus fosters a close-knit community in which students feel connected and supported. Plus, our downtown location provides enviable access to Boston's bustling city life. And with more than to choose from, Suffolk students are rarely bored! From honors societies and Greek life to sports and cultural associations, students can easily find their scene and get involved.

						What students say:

The student body "is one of a diverse group of people who come from a multitude of backgrounds and walks of life. People at Suffolk are welcoming of those of every background and cultivate a welcoming environment for those around them." As one student recalls, "Upon entering the school,...I was greeted by upperclassmen who welcomed me to the Suffolk community with open arms," adding, "Now that I have begun my second semester, I have learned that this embrace was not just a welcoming gesture, but also the continuous environment in which the school thrives." Another student concurs, saying that campus is "a friendly place that is abuzz with conversation and debate." Suffolk students are known for being "very inclusive, and they always try to make sure nobody is left behind...they will make sure everyone's voice is heard no matter what."
