Career Experience
I have just retired after 24 years of teaching at the high school level. Primarily I taught algebra-based and calculus-based physics, but I have also taught astronomy, chemistry, and Earth science. In between my undergraduate and graduate studies, I worked as a telescope operator for a space-based telescope and as a research assistant investigating star formation and cataclysmic variable stars.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy working with students and helping them to understand the physical world. What I miss most about classroom teaching is the interaction with teenagers and helping them to realize that they can learn and do challenging things. Tutoring allows me to continue working with students.
