Career Experience
I started teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level in 2006. Part of my daily curriculum included journal writing, vocabulary, and grammar review. I have taught a total of 3.5 years in the classroom, not including my time as a substitute teacher. Online, I have been tutoring writing since 2011, mainly helping professionals and college students. I have worked synchronously on a whiteboard and asynchronously. I have written different types of tutorials for career essays, narratives, nursing literature reviews, business reports, resumes, and literary/art analyses.
I Love Tutoring Because
I like helping students figure out their problems. In college, I had a tutor, and she helped me improve tremendously to help me overcome my learning barriers. Learning how to tackle a problem can be frustrating, particularly in writing. A student might misunderstand the assignment directions or simply be confused. It is a thrilling moment when a student understands how to fix that issue because of my help.
