My tutor overcomplicated the solution. I didn't know I only had an hour for this session either, so in the last five minutes I just asked if we can go back to my original code and rather than completely re-write it with the advanced skill he has that I clearly didn't understand. I wish I would have asked that sooner, because he seemed willing to help, but being told we have 5 minutes left didn't make me feel he was willing to go beyond time so I just gave up and thanked him. I feel much worse about my assignment now before I started the session. He was clearly very knowledgeable about coding, but couldn't dumb it down for me as this is my first coding class.
